A 30 minute documentary film about Ben Stern, a 95-year-old Holocaust survivor who survived two ghettos, nine concentration camps and two death marches. It is a disturbing, yet beautiful film that powerfully portrays the strength of the human spirit. Working closely with the director and editor, I created the overall look of the motion graphics, did all the design and most of the animation for the film, and hired and directed additional animators to help finish the film on time.
Part of my process for creating the final main title animation involved printing the chosen styleframe design out on paper and then taking time lapse photos of it as I progressively sprayed water on the paper (to create an aged, disintegrating effect). Then I imported it back in to Photoshop and used the "aged" images as source in the animated title.
